I do not regret by bikini show - Priyamani

The national award winner, Priyamani, says that the national award need not be and for that matter should not be a deterring factor in her career. This actress who shot to fame through ‘Paruthiveeran’, and was seen all along as a saree clad, girl next door type, has sent enough signals in the industry that she is out for any character at any length.
She recently performed in ‘Dhrona’ with two piece bikini. This movie did not live up to the mark contrary to the hype. It’s a general opinion that except this bikini scene, the movie contains nothing worthwhile. So this bikini act has become the talk of the town and also part of questions in a TV interview.
Expecting this question and well prepared Priyamani said, “Just because I’m an award winner it is not necessary that I always portray myself only in sarees. The film ‘Dhrona’ I did was a youth oriented film and needed a scene of that kind which I did. I did not have serious thoughts and did not mind at all when I was approached by the director to do the scene in between. I have no regrets that some did not like it”.
